This second lovely album was recorded live at their regular end of the month performance after lockdown in July ’21 at Vinoteq in Dover UK.
Their music is a freeform flowing stream of connectivity between three players created spontaneously like the Japanese art of calligraphy Shodo - ‘Direct Deed’ where after much meditation and with one stroke of the brush ideograms are formed.
The Zen Bicycle Band when performing combines the roles of the composer and performer. The ego nature of each performer is made quiet. Then they connect with the audience and listen intuitively from an inner stillness, linking directly to their own imaginations and inspiration. Every performance is unique.
This album was recorded in one session and is the second of their musically introspective output. They have been playing together for 14 years. Perhaps we are becoming more thoughtful as well as reflecting on how local and world events have influenced us?
